Brass is copper alloyed with zinc; bronze is copper alloyed primarily with tin. Brass machines more easily, conducts electricity better, and carries a brighter gold color — ideal for fittings, terminals, and decorative parts. Bronze is harder and more wear-resistant, favored for bearings, bushings, and marine components. We fabricate both.

Brass joins exceptionally well: it can be soft soldered or brazed to itself and all other copper alloys, producing clean, seamless assemblies without screws or rivets. Welding brass is possible but less common, since its zinc content complicates the process — for most designs, brazing delivers stronger, cleaner results.

Brass resists corrosion very well — including in water service, which is why it dominates plumbing hardware. Its surface can tarnish to a darker patina over time, however. Where appearance matters, polishing, plating, or clear-coat finishing preserves the bright look; we advise on the right finish during engineering review.
