Stainless SteelStainless steel is an alloy containing chromium, which provides good corrosion resistance and improved strength. Stainless steel is great in outdoor applications or other applications in which parts might be exposed to rust or corrosive chemicals. It’s also useful in applications that need more hardness than mild steel. As well as this, it is non-magnetic and non-sparking, making it ideal for medical instruments.
CopperCopper is a reddish metal with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, making it ideal for wiring, plumbing, and heat exchangers. It is soft and ductile, so it can be shaped easily but is less strong than steel. Copper can corrode when in contact with certain metals or harsh environments. Its combination of conductivity, workability, and corrosion resistance makes it useful in industrial, decorative, and functional applications.
Carbon SteelCarbon steel is an iron-carbon alloy known for its strength and hardness, used widely in construction, automotive parts, and tools. Higher carbon content increases strength but also brittleness and welding difficulty. It is prone to rust in wet or acidic environments. Its affordability, toughness, and versatility make it a staple material across many industries.
BrassBrass is a copper-zinc alloy valued for its corrosion resistance, machinability, and golden appearance. It is softer than steel and can work-harden quickly during machining. Brass may suffer from dezincification in certain environments. It is commonly used for decorative items, plumbing fittings, musical instruments, and electrical connectors.
AluminiumAluminum has many wonderful qualities. Its primary qualities are its high level of resistance to rust and its reduced weight, being one-third of the weight of steel. It is less strong than other materials, but this can sometimes be overcome through design. In some applications, aluminum can also be designed to be equally as strong as steel. Because of its strength lack , aluminum is not able to handle the same stresses as steel.
